We started as Green Mountain CBD and changed our name toSunsoil in early 2019. With this name change, you can expect the same exact product formulas, pricing, farming practices, extraction method, and people behind the company as you did under our former name. The recent change only impacted our name and logo.Transitioning to our new name and logo allows us to trademark Sunsoil as a brand, which helps to protect our product and customers. 

We developed a simple infusion method using only hemp and organic coconut oil. Whole-plant infusion involves minimal processing of our hemp plants in contrast to other popular methods, such as CO2 or ethanol extraction.

We steep the dried hemp in coconut oil, heat and press it. This method does the best job of capturing the full range of beneficial compounds found naturally in the hemp plant.

We don't just focus on making the best possible CBD oil, we do it as efficiently as possible.

Unlike most companies, we do everything ourselves: we breed our seeds, we farm our hemp, and we make CBD oil on-site. Owning the full process allows us to monitor quality and save cost at every step.

Our unique, whole-plant infusion method of making CBD oil is also critical. It allows us to make a naturally rich CBD oil for a fraction of the cost. Infusion is naturally cost-efficient relative to methods that other CBD oil producers use (such as CO2 extraction).

Finally, simplicity is key. We focus on making a few great products, and doing it efficiently. Our mission is to make high-quality CBD oil that is affordable and accessible. We currently price our products at a flat rate of 5 cents per milligram of CBD, and plan to continually bring our prices down over time.

There are no restrictions on flying with our products within the United States/domestically - just be sure to keep the product in the original packaging. We do not advise people to travel internationally with our products unless they have consulted with all appropriate authorities.

Yes, all of our products are full spectrum. Nothing is added or removed during the process in order to preserve the wide range of cannabinoids and terpenes that naturally exist in our hemp plants. 

This also means that there are trace amounts of THC in all of our products (<0.3% THC on a dry-weight basis). The trace amounts are not intended to produce psychoactive effects.

Our peppermint drops contain organic peppermint essential oil, while our cinnamon drops contain cinnamon bark essential oil (Ceylon variety). 

Our chocolate mint drops contain organic peppermint essential oil and plant-derived aroma compounds to mimic the chocolate flavor. They are cocoa-free.

While our softgels contain bovine-sourced gelatin, we have a vegan/vegetarian option.

If you're looking for a vegan/vegetarian option, try our 30 or 90 count vegan capsules instead.

All products are gluten-free and are produced in allergen-free environments.

We recommend storing all products in a cool, dry place that is out of direct sunlight and away from any heat-source. It's not necessary to refrigerate our products.

Our full spectrum CBD oil is extracted from USDA certified organic hemp using coconut oil or MCT oil depending on the product (coconut-derived MCT oil is used in place of coconut oil for manufacturing tinctures). We do not use alcohol, CO2 or harsh solvents for extraction.

No, none of our products are approved for or intended for vaping.

Every person's experience with CBD will differ. We recommend starting with a 20mg serving of CBD, and waiting a couple hours before taking any more, paying close attention to how you feel/what you notice. In general, it's important to find the "routine" that works for your body and needs. By routine, we refer to the serving size, frequency of use and product format.

Effects are not always immediate, as it can take a couple weeks of consistent use before you begin to notice benefits. Some folks take a couple servings per day, only once per day, or only as needed. It's not uncommon to take more (or less!) than a 20mg serving of CBD, or to use more than one product format.

All products are full spectrum CBD containing trace amounts of THC. These trace amounts fall well below the established legal limits (<0.3% THC on a dry-weight basis), and are not intended to produce psychoactive effects.

With this said, we do not recommend the use of our products if you are subject to drug screenings for work or any other purpose, as we cannot guarantee a negative test result.

LIPID INFUSION FOR EXTRACTION

We use lipid infusion because its simplicity preserves the purity and integrity of our plants. Lipids are naturally occurring molecules that form a group of compounds (fatty acids) and are insoluble in water. Common substances like coconut oil and olive oil are considered lipids. Lipid infusion is a straightforward, toxin-free process that uses heat and pressure to capture the full spectrum of our USDA certified organic hemp plants and their cannabinoids, terpenes and additional phytocompounds. Lipid infusion enables us to make high-quality, whole-plant hemp extract that is minimally processed and efficient – two qualities that help feed the core of Sunsoil’s mission.

We extract directly from the aerial parts of our hemp plants using  organic coconut oil and coconut-derived MCT oil. We do not extract from the stems of our plants. Additionally, we make a whole plant, full spectrum extract – we do not isolate and reconstitute our cannabinoids.

Our hemp and full spectrum CBD oil is certified organic by the USDA. We farm organically and do not use pest control products on our crops at any point in the process. Our plants are rich in terpenes and cannabinoids that function as their own natural pest control.

No alcohol or any harsh solvents are ever used in our process and are not present in our products.
